Ulster Orchestra, On Your Doorstep: Viva Italia!

Join
string players from the Ulster Orchestra as we transport you from Bellaghy to
the Mediterranean.

This
concert brings some gems from Italian repertoire to the Heaney HomePlace and
promises a programme packed with the Mediterranean sun! Central to the
performance is Tchaikovsky’s Souvenir de Florence, a musical
memento of a holiday he took in that city and written as he took breaks in
working on The Nutcracker. This sextet for two violins, two violas and
two cellos is full of brilliance, brightness and lyricism – the memory of a
sun-filled day in Tuscany will bring warmth to the heart and put a spring in
your step!
