Frank Cottrell-Boyce In Conversation with Martin Melarkey
Frank Cottrell-Boyce is an award-winning
children’s author and writer for stage and
screen. Millions, his debut children’s novel,
won the Carnegie Medal and was made
into a film by Danny Boyle with whom he
co-devised the Opening Ceremony for the
London 2012 Olympics. Frank also devised The Return of Colmcille, a highlight of Derry’s UK City of Culture programme in 2013.
His newest novel, The Blockbusters, was
published in May 2025 while his previous
titles – Cosmic, Framed, The Astounding Broccoli
Boy, Sputnik’s Guide to Life on Earth, Runaway
Robot, Noah’s Gold and The Wonder Brothers –
have been shortlisted for a multitude
of prizes.
