Dana Masters in Concert
‘Dana’s wide-ranging musical influences are evident through
her own unique sound. Her vocal dexterity spans the spectrum from deeply
meditative to soaring, soulful resonant highs.’
Van Morrison
Dana Masters was born and raised in the deep south of
the United States by family who ushered in and were deeply involved with the
Civil Rights Movement of the 50’s and 60’s. Granddaughter of a celebrated Civil
Rights activist, Dana left home at the age of 17 to pursue a life in music, and
a chance meeting with an Irish man in LA, brought her here to live.
Dana did not just find her home amongst the hills of County
Down but found herself as a singer and songwriter too. Now making waves as a
solo performer, the acclaimed vocalist is capable of moving fluently between
jazz, blues, soul and gospel.
As well as her flourishing solo career, Dana has been Van
Morrison's back-up singer for several years, plays regularly with local jazz
great Linley Hamilton and has recorded her own songs with the Ulster Orchestra
and RTÉ Concert Orchestra amongst others.
Do not miss this stunning vocalist in the intimate
surroundings of The Helicon.
