Colm Mac Con Iomaire in Concert

‘innately sublime’ The Irish Times

In a crowded field of outstanding Irish fiddle players and interpreters of traditional music, Colm Mac Con Iomaire is unique. His voice is unmistakably his own and his music bears distinctive creative hallmarks which have as much to do with his personality and character as with his impressive technical mastery, musical authority and exquisitely expressive playing.

One of Ireland’s most respected musicians, Colm was a founding member of The Frames with Glen Hansard, is a founding member of Kila and a world famous session musician, playing on David Gray’s White Ladder, amongst others. He has released three solo instrumental albums: The Hare’s Corner (Cúinne an GhiorriaAnd Now the Weather (Agus Anois an Aimsir)  and The River Holds Its Breath (Tost ar an Abhainn).

As well as being a renowned composer and performer, Colm has worked extensively writing music for film, theatre and television. He created the music for the theatrical shows Bláth and How to Catch a Star and for movies Dare to be WildOut of Innocence and the Oscar-nominated animation Late Afternoon.

Colm last performed in The Helicon last year, in a magical evening alongside Carol Ann Duffy. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear one of Ireland’s finest musicians, along with some special guests to be announced.
