A short 5-minute journey to The Strand, a location of significance in Seamus Heaney’s life and poetry.
11.25 – 12.10pm – Creative Exploration at The Strand
Join our Creative Learning Officer for a 45-minute session exploring The Strand.
Gain inspiration from the surroundings that influenced Seamus Heaney’s poetic journey.
12.10 pm – 12.15 pm – Return to Seamus Heaney HomePlace
12.15 pm – 12.45 pm – Lunch
Enjoy a delightful 30-minute lunch with soup and sandwiches, provided as part of the workshop.

Engage in a hands-on workshop where you’ll bring the beauty of “The Strand at Loughbeg” to life through your own creations.
After exploring the picturesque landscape of “The Strand at Loughbeg”, participants can transfer their own impressions onto lino and skilfully cut out the chosen image.
Ink up your creation and let your imagination flow as you craft a unique picture or postcards from your print.
Guided by our skilled facilitators, capture the essence of your journey through Long Point Wood and the picturesque viewing area.
