Travel and Tourism Discussion Day

Travel and Tourism Discussion Day

Travel and Tourism Day

Seamus Heaney HomePlace is delighted to offer its first ever Travel and Tourism Discussion Day on Friday 20th January 2023.  Through engaging with business leaders in Mid Ulster, BTEC, GCSE and A Level students will gain first-hand, in-depth accounts from those working in the travel and tourism industries.

Students will get the opportunity to attend a panel discussion featuring representatives from the hotelier and wedding industries as well as a trained tour guide operating in the area. Panellists will discuss their individual organisational aims, key products and services, and how they work in collaboration with other members of a local business cluster to enhance the tourism offering in Mid Ulster.  A question and answer session will follow.

Welcoming students and setting the context for the day will be Seamus Heaney HomePlace’s Education Officer Bríd McGuinness. There will then be a contribution from HomePlace manager Brian McCormick, who will outline the development of Seamus Heaney HomePlace from inception to the present day.

Students will later experience our award winning exhibition, where they can engage with World Host trained staff who will be happy to answer any relevant questions.
