Big Telly Theatre Company set to bewitch Bellaghy with The Faerie Thorn!

Big Telly Theatre Company is set to bring its 30th anniversary celebrations to Seamus Heaney HomePlace on Tuesday 23 May, with a highly acclaimed stage adaptation of ‘The Faerie Thorn and Other Stories’ by local author Jane Talbot.


 
Based on local myths and legends, The Faerie Thorn sees Big Telly bring two dark and funny tales from Jane’s book to the stage, along with an additional new tale written by the Ballymoney author especially for the production.
 
In a piece which is both dark and comedic, the cast of five take on various roles - from a farmer to a faerie king! – utilising mask work, dancing, illusion and home-made sound effects to help tell the tales.
 
Multi-award winning theatre company Big Telly has carved out a reputation over the past 30 years as bold, risk-taking theatre makers, and The Faerie Thorn will audiences a piece of vibrant, contemporary, physical theatre, dealing with inexorable human tensions in a way that is shocking and yet terrifyingly familiar.
