Looking Back at Churning Day

cool porous earthenware fermented the buttermilk 
for churning day, when the hooped churn was scoured’"

‘Churning Day’ introduces participants to the poem of the same name. The day includes the chance for participants to churn and shape their own butter and a ‘taste test’ between real butter and margarine on homemade scones all whilst discussing the butter-making process and traditions and superstitions around butter making in this part of the world in the past and in present day.
