Seamus Heaney HomePlace is delighted to welcome world-renowned cookery school owner and bestselling author Darina Allen for an intimate talk and book signing on Monday 7th October 2019.

Darina Allen runs the world-renowned cookery school at Ballymaloe in Ireland and is the bestselling author of Ballymaloe Cookery Course and Forgotten Skills of Cooking, which won the prestigious André Simon award in 2009.

Darina will journey to Bellaghy to host an exclusive talk on foraging and discuss recipes from her new book, One Pot Feeds All.  Her 19th book, Ireland’s best-loved food ambassador, Darina Allen, offers the perfect solution to cooking delicious, wholesome food as simply as possible.
Following the talk, Darin Allen will be signing books in the HomePlace library where everyone is welcome to come a long, purchase a copy of One Pot Feeds All and meet Darina as she signs the book.

Darina Allen is a strong campaigner for the use of local produce and is a member of Slow Food Ireland and set up Ireland’s first farmers’ market. She has won many awards including the Guild of Food Writers’ Lifetime Achievement award in 2013.

Darina’s visit to HomePlace will coincide with Taste the Island – A celebration of food and drink across Ireland.  The programme is an eight week showcase of Ireland’s fabulous food and drink which will run from Mid- September to Mid- November 2019.
